Nelson practices all aspects of litigation and ranging from personal injury/wrongful death, property damage, products liability, to contractual breach, third-party claims, subrogation and international arbitration. He handles all phases of pre-trial activities, including pleadings, depositions, motion practice and mediation/ADR.
In addition to his professional and legal background, Nelson draws upon his recording engineering and music performance education and professional experience. He has assisted various clients and artists in contract drafting and reviews for live performance and charitable events. In addition, he has worked closely with artists in charitable organization filings, 501(c)(3) compliance, business formation and law. As a native New Yorker, Nelson has taken on various pro bono matters, including representation of Hurricane Sandy victims.
Prior to law school Nelson worked as an aircraft technician with major air carriers in New York for over 12 years. He is an F.A.A. certified Airframe & Powerplant Airman and holds an F.C.C. General Radio Telephone License. After law school, Nelson joined Marsh, USA as an Assistant Vice President for Aviation Claims.
Nelson is admitted to practice in the Connecticut and New York State courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a NYCLA member and a member of The Wings Club. Nelson speaks fluent Spanish, and is an adjunct instructor for Vaughn College of Aeronautics & Technology and Guttman Community College, City University of New York.
